We’re Hiring: Application Engineer

Location: Pune, India

About the Role:

We are looking for a technically strong and customer-focused Application Engineer – AC Equipment to join our growing team. You will be responsible for the technical design, selection, and application engineering of air conditioning systems across a variety of commercial and industrial projects.

This is a key technical role that directly supports the sales team, consultants, and clients in selecting the right AC equipment for each project. Your work ensures that every system we propose meets performance, efficiency, and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

🔹 Technical Review & Equipment Selection

• Analyse project drawings, specifications, and tender documents to identify HVAC requirements.

• Select suitable AC equipment, including:

  • Chillers (air-cooled and water-cooled)

  • VRF/VRV Systems

  • Ducted and Ductless Split Systems

  • Packaged Rooftop Units (RTUs)

  • Air Handling Units (AHUs)

  • Fan Coil Units (FCUs)

• Match project requirements to manufacturer catalogues and product lines to optimize technical and cost aspects.

🔹 Proposal and Pre-Sales Support

• Prepare technical proposals, submittals, equipment schedules, and compliance statements.

• Assist sales engineers in preparing tender documents, pricing, and quotations.

• Provide detailed technical descriptions, system schematics, and performance data for client submissions.

🔹 Project Support

• Assist project execution teams by reviewing shop drawings, design changes, and responding to technical queries (RFIs).

• Support commissioning and startup teams by offering technical clarifications when needed.

• Ensure compliance with HVAC codes (ASHRAE, SMACNA) and local regulations.

🔹 Training and Continuous Development

• Stay updated with the latest product developments, energy efficiency trends, and AC technology innovations.

• Participate in factory trainings, seminars, and workshops.

• Provide internal product and application training to the sales and project management teams.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related field.

• 2–5 years of experience in HVAC/AC application engineering, especially in selecting and sizing air conditioning equipment.

• Strong understanding of cooling system design principles, psychometrics, energy efficiency standards, and thermodynamics.

• Hands-on experience with AC equipment selection software (e.g. AHU, FCU, VRF selection tools).

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit for reviewing layouts and coordination.

• Excellent communication and technical presentation skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.

• Strong problem-solving skills and a client-focused approach.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with AHU, FCU, DX, VRF/VRV system design and integration.

• Knowledge of green building certifications (e.g., LEED, Estidama).
